The Restart Series

As managing editor of EducationNC, I worked with senior reporter Alex Granados on a video, print, and audio series about restart schools, a little-known program in North Carolina that permits low-performing traditional public schools to use charter-like flexibilities. 

The project was part of a collaboration with partners at WRAL funded by a grant from the Center for Cooperative Media who published a case study of the work. We developed interactive graphics to allow audiences to access school-level data. I also used my booking skills from my early career to facilitate getting our reporters on several other outlets to discuss the series.
